We have one office, in Dublin. We are an independent consultancy for SWIFT, ISO 20022 and payments. We work with businesses, not consumers.
2.What we collect and why
We collect little. Each item below shows the data, the purpose and our lawful basis under Article 6 of the GDPR.
Enquiries and emails
- Data: your name, work email address, organisation, role, and anything you write to us. This includes messages sent from the contact form and emails sent to us directly.
- Purpose: to read and answer your enquiry, to discuss possible work with you, and to contact you about our services, including sales and marketing emails. You can opt out of these at any time.
- Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)). If you ask us to take steps before a contract, we also rely on Article 6(1)(b).
When you use the contact form, your message is sent by our server to our inbox through Brevo, our email provider (see Who we share data with). We may contact you about our services after you get in touch, and you can opt out at any time.
Newsletter
- Data: your email address, and the date and time you confirmed your subscription.
- Purpose: to send you occasional insights about SWIFT, ISO 20022 and payments.
- Lawful basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You opt in with an unticked box and then confirm by clicking a link in an email (double opt-in).
- Withdrawing consent: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to info@run.ventures. Withdrawing does not affect earlier use.
Clients and business contacts
- Data: business contact details and records of our work and correspondence with you.
- Purpose: to provide our services, manage the relationship, invoice and keep accounts.
- Lawful basis: performing a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), meeting legal duties such as tax and accounting (Article 6(1)(c)), and legitimate interests in running our business (Article 6(1)(f)).
Server logs
- Data: when you load a page, the systems that serve this website may record technical data such as your IP address, date and time, the page requested, and browser and device type.
- Purpose: to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix faults.
- Lawful basis: legitimate interests in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f)).
What we do not do
- We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking tools of our own on this website. Cloudflare may produce aggregate traffic and security statistics.
- We do not use your data for automated decisions or profiling that affect you.
- We do not knowingly collect special category data (such as health data). Please do not send it to us.
If you are asked to give us personal data by law or contract, we will say so. For website enquiries you choose what to send. If you send us little, we may not be able to reply fully.
3.Cookies and similar technologies
This website sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing else on your device for tracking or any other purpose. The only exception is a small item in local storage that remembers your cookie choice. We load no analytics, advertising or social media scripts, and fonts and images come from our own site. The site is served through Cloudflare, which may set a strictly necessary security cookie (for example __cf_bm, which lasts about 30 minutes) to tell real visitors from bots. It is not used for tracking or advertising.
Cookies that are strictly necessary for security or to deliver the service do not need consent, so nothing needs your consent today. Our cookie notice still lets you set choices for optional analytics and marketing categories, which we do not use yet, so they are respected if that changes. See our Cookie Policy for details. If we add anything non-essential, we will update this policy and ask for consent first (ePrivacy Regulations 2011).
Some links on this site lead to other websites, for example the payhip.com page for our research report. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies once you visit them. We do not control them.
4.Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only where needed, with:
- Service providers (processors) that help us run the website and our business, such as web hosting and email providers. They act on our instructions and must protect the data.
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts and delivers this website and protects it from attacks, under its data processing terms.
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which delivers contact-form messages and newsletter emails for us under a data processing agreement.
- Professional advisers, such as accountants, auditors and lawyers, under a duty of confidentiality.
- Authorities, such as the Revenue Commissioners, courts or regulators, where the law requires it.
- A buyer or successor, if our business is reorganised or sold, subject to this policy.
We only share what the recipient needs for the task.
5.Transfers outside the EEA
Cloudflare is a US company and serves the site from data centres worldwide, so your IP address and request data may be processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Brevo hosts data in the EU but may use sub-processors outside it. Where data leaves the EEA, we make sure the transfer is protected. We rely on an EU adequacy decision, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) together with any extra safeguards needed.
You can ask us for more detail on the safeguards we use. Use the contact details below.
6.How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, and then delete or anonymise it. In general:
- Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for up to 12 months after our last contact.
- Client and contract records are kept for the length of the relationship and afterwards for as long as the law requires. Accounting records are kept for 6 years.
- Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe. We then keep only a suppression record so we do not email you again.
- Server logs are kept by Cloudflare for a short period under its own retention settings.
If you want to know how long we hold your data, ask us.
7.Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to:
- Be informed about how we use your data (this policy).
- Access your data and get a copy.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Erase your data in certain cases.
- Restrict how we use your data in certain cases.
- Port data you gave us, where we use it under a contract or with your consent, to you or another controller.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests. We will stop unless we have compelling grounds or need the data for legal claims.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This does not affect earlier use.
To use a right, email info@run.ventures. We may ask you to confirm who you are. We aim to reply within one month. It is free, unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive. Some rights have exceptions, and we will explain if one applies.
8.Complaints
Please talk to us first. We want to put things right.
You also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority. In Ireland this is the Data Protection Commission (DPC). You can find how to complain at dataprotection.ie. You can also complain to the authority in the EU country where you live or work.
9.Security
We use technical and organisational measures that are appropriate to the risk, and we limit access to personal data to people who need it. No internet service is completely secure. Email in particular is not always encrypted end to end. Please do not send sensitive information by email unless it is needed.
If a personal data breach puts your rights at risk, we will act as the law requires. This includes telling the DPC and, where needed, you.
10.Children
Our website and services are for businesses. They are not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us data, email us and we will delete it.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will make it clear on this site.
